no other time in history. Through the Internet and mobile communications, we are
able to interact in real time with people on opposite sides of the planet on an
unprecedented scale. We hope that this interaction will not only engender mutual
understanding and respect, but also directly enhance in other ways the lives of
people participating in the information and communications revolution. But the first
barriers to participation in this technological revolution are access and education.

Issues and discussions on the collective impact of ICT-in-education projects and programs in Egypt |

In an effort to maximize the return on ICT investments in education, the Egyptian Education Initiative organized a one day forum to start a discussion on the collective impact of ICT-in-education projects and programs currently undergoing in Egypt and how this impact could be planned for and traced at present in a way that could improve the planning and implementation of ICT-in-education programs/projects. The forum was held at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology premises on Wednesday, 11 March, 2009.
The forum discussed issues related to the potential impact of ICT-in-education programs in Egypt, the significance of mapping out this potential impact up-front and the means and mechanism of planning for and tracing impact during implementation.
