A workshop was held at the Italian Institute Don Bosco on Tuesday July, 13th about upgrading advanced technical schools via the use of information and communication technology (ICT).
The workshop was organized as part of a project on developing 10 Egyptian technical schools. The project aims at boosting the technological infrastructure at the selected schools as well as facilitating specialized technical and technological training at the schools’ different sections.
The project also aims at establishing an e-learning center connected to the internet to create channels for exchanging experiences among the participating schools.
The workshop was attended by Advisor to Egypt’s Minister of Education for IT, Dr. Ahmed Tobal, General Manager of Technical Education Dr. Hani Mouneib, Director of Egyptian-Italian Cooperation Program Valeria Mtscane, Director of Education Projects at Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) Eng. Ayman Helmy and Director of Istituto Don Bosco Father Renzo.
Also concerned stakeholders from Ministry of Education, the advanced technical schools and Istituto Don Bosco took part in the workshop.
The project goals and means of making use of the expertise of the institute in developing schools were among the issues discussed during the workshop. In addition, the technological model that will be applied through MCIT was presented during the workshop.
The meeting was concluded by the attendees tour in the institute where they were introduced to the technologies used at the different departments.
